OM Charitable Trust commences construction operation towards the establishment of an OLD AGE ‘SWEET’ HOME in Haridwar to enable and empower the elderly to live with dignity and comfort in a peaceful and soothing environment on the banks of the holy Ganges.
The residential complex providing all the facilities required for the elderly people is named as “Sneh Basera-
“ Old Age Home” blessed by nature with mountains surrounding in a calm atmosphere on the banks of Gangas. This is spread in 2.5 acres as a venture for elderly people promoted by Mr. Sunil Arora. This project has been dedicated to the loving memory of his father Late Sh. OM PARKASH ARORA, who inspired him for this noble cause.
Mr Sunil Arora started his carrier as a small time builder at early eighties in Patna (Bihar) after establishing himself in textile business, group housing projects, hotel industry, Commercial malls & Holiday Resorts etc. He purchase the land at village Kangri, Bijnour Road Highway Haridwar to set up a Trust and dedicated the land to the registered ‘Om Charitable Trust’ managed by an experienced group of trustees. The Trust is constituted to ensure that the elderly people who are left behind in the present fast moving society are empowered and are helped to enjoy a peace of mind, honor and have a sense of dignity in there last phase of there life on the banks of Holy Ganges.
The estimated approximate cost of the construction with ultra modern facilities being provided at the Old Age Home is Rs 25 Crores (excluding the cost of land) being met out of the charitable donations contributions.The OLD AGE 'SWEET HOME' will consist of three type of apartments:
The site for the OLD AGE 'SWEET' HOME is located in a pollution-
There will be 190 flats in the building of two blocks with six floors including the ground floor. 100 of these would be for charity, whereas 90 others will be available on monthly maintenance charges and a one-
The OLD AGE 'SWEET' HOME building will provide all necessary amenities and facilities including two lifts, a ramp and a staircase for every block.
Every flat made available as free of cost will include one room, pantry and toilet . The room will have all amenities like bed, mosquito net, table, chair, cupboard, shelves, fan, light etc.
The paid flats will each have one room, pantry, dressing room, toilet and living room.The building will also include a big hygienic kitchen with all modern accessories.
Current Status: Due to unexpected delays and shortage of funds, the construction of the main building has been delayed and expected to commence back construction in january 2014 and the project is expected to be complete by june 2016 to provide a happy and beautiful home and quality respectable life to dozens of people.
